A Workshop on “Principles of Academic Writing: How to Write Effective Essay Papers”
On Monday, April 8, 2019, at the Ground floor of International ELC English Language Center at SPU, the Cultural Heritage Network (CHN) project from the Digital Cultural Heritage Research Group of Sulaimani Polytechnic University organized a workshop on “Principles of Academic Writing: How to Write Effective Essay Papers” for our DCH founding head Dr. Rozhen Kamal.
During the workshop, Dr. Rozhen got her audience engaged by discussing the principles and features of effective academic writing such as: formality, objectivity, accuracy, organization, planning among others. She also explained common mistakes that researchers/writers might face such as plagiarism and writer’s block, and how to avoid them.
It is worth mentioning that 78 students (Undergraduate and graduate- MA. & PhD students), faculty members and researchers from different disciplines as well as interested members of the public or of government organizations and NGOs were participated and came from different universities and cities (Halabja and Sulaimani).
Dr. Rozhen is a reviewer of a number of European and American journals and conferences, and a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) International Development Peer Review College Member.
CHN is funded by UCL’s Nahrein Network. The project is jointly directed by the Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) and the Universities of Reading and Leicester.
