The vice president for Scientific and Postgraduate Affairs is primarily responsible for educational policy and academic programs. This requires having the vision to guide curriculum development and improvement, accreditation, improvement of teaching and learning, assessment of student learning and strategic academic decisions to meet the educational needs of students in a diverse community.
The VP for Scientific and postgraduate affairs has responsibility, in collaboration with the Deans and program development unit within the institution, to plan, implement and coordinate the educational programs. Activities associated with academic promotion, research and postgraduate studies will be supervised by the VP for Scientific and postgraduate affairs through directorates of scientific and postgraduate affairs, program development and quality assurance, the international English language center and pedagogy center.
The VP for Scientific and postgraduate affairs reviews grant opportunities, supports applications for new grants and oversees implementation of grants within the university. Additionally, this VP represents the university at scientific meetings and conferences and other activities, as well as making presentations at meetings, workshops and events as assigned by the President.
