University President Presides Over the Inauguration of Deans of Sulaimani Technical Institutes
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU), and in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Sarhang Sarwat, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education; Professor Dr. Ali Qadir Osman, Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs; and Assistant Professor Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid Sharif, Vice President for Student Affairs—along with the directors of accounting, auditing, administrative, and scientific departments, as well as the Institute Registrar—a new administrative phase officially commenced for three technical institutes on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Sulaimani Technical Institute, during which the following individuals formally assumed their positions:
• Assistant Professor Dr. Choman Aladin Omar as Dean of the Sulaimani Technical Institute of Technology
• Professor Dr. Jalal Abdullah Mohammed as Dean of the Sulaimani Technical Administrative Institute
• Assistant Professor Dr. Solav Jawhar Ali as Dean of the Sulaimani Technical Medical Institute
During the ceremony, the President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University extended his congratulations to the newly appointed deans, as well as to the academic and administrative staff of the Sulaimani Technical Institute. He expressed his best wishes for their success and progress, emphasizing that this transition represents a strong foundation for enhancing and streamlining scientific, administrative, and financial operations.
Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz called upon the new deans to honor the trust placed in them by the University Presidency and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He urged them to work diligently to elevate administrative performance and further develop technical education and specialized departments within their respective institutes. He also reaffirmed the University Presidency’s full support for their future initiatives.
In response, the three deans expressed their sincere appreciation to the SPU Presidency and pledged to carry out their responsibilities with dedication. They are committed to making every effort to improve educational quality, enhance student services, and strengthen the scientific, administrative, and financial management of their institutes.
It is worth noting that on Sunday, during a visit to the Presidency of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, Dr. Aram Qadir Mohammed, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, officially signed the ministerial decrees confirming the appointments of the deans of the three technical institutes.
