Representative of Sulaimani Polytechnic University Participated in the Conference of the Organization of Arab Universities in Tunisia

Under the title “Registration and Acceptance in the Age of Digital Transformation” the 40th Arab Organization Conference for Registration and Admissions Officers in Arab Universities was held in Tunisia on 18-21 December 2023. On behalf of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid Sharif, Vice President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University for Student Affairs and member of the Executive Committee of the Arab Organization for Registration and Admission in Arab Universities participated in the conference and said "During the conference, which was attended by the Tunisian Minister of Higher Education, the Iraqi Ambassador to Tunisia and the Secretary General of the Union of Arab Universities, several issues related to registration and admission between universities in Arab countries and Russia were discussed. Also, he mentions that “On behalf of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, we held several important meetings and interviews with representatives of the participating universities in order to exchange information and strengthen relations to further serve the students,”. In the same conference, the Vice President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University for Student Affairs met with the President of the Union of Arab Universities-Russia and discussed the program of conducting summer internships and training students that will benefit the students. The most important recommendations of the conference include the establishment of a center belonging to the relevant organization to establish a general framework for the rules and guidelines related to admission, registration, and transfer of students between universities and work to develop policies and procedures and vice versa. It was pointed out that student academic data will be transferred electronically from one university to another, and students will be trained through virtual laboratories. They also paid attention to the students with disabilities by organizing training courses for staff in admissions and registration by university specialists and working to adapt programs. It also instructs universities to facilitate admission, transfer and registration procedures for students attending Gaza universities who wish to transfer.
