
Sulaimani Polytechnic University Offers 600 Job Vacancies
Sulaimani Polytechnic University, in cooperation with the International Labour Organization and its affiliated institutions, has announced 600 job vacancies during the inaugural Sulaimani Job Fair.
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, the first Sulaimani Job Fair was launched on May 4, 2025, under the slogan “Secure Your Future.” The event was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, the Governor of Sulaimani, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This fair is part of the university’s ongoing initiatives to support career development. It was organized by the Career Development Center (CDC) in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and funded by the European Union. A total of 37 diverse companies participated, offering 600 job opportunities across various sectors to university students and graduates.
Throughout the event, many company representatives and speakers engaged with attendees, while a significant number of students and visitors submitted their CVs in pursuit of employment opportunities.
As part of the fair’s activities, a panel discussion titled “Transition to the Labor Market: Opportunities and Challenges” was held. The panel featured insights from; Asst. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid Sharif, Vice President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University for Student Affairs, Nawzad Ghafur Karim, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Sulaimani, and Aram Anwar Omar, Regional Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprises Support Fund at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
