Researchers from Sulaimani Polytechnic University beat their peers from 18 local and international universities in the Qaywan Group Competition.
Researchers from Sulaimani Polytechnic University surpassed 1,500 students from 18 local and international universities in the scientific competition organized by the Qaiwan Group Companies at their first World Scientific Research Festival by winning three of the 12 awards, including first place, and marketing one of their innovative devices, researchers were from 18 Iraqi universities ( Al -Mustansiriya and Technological Universities)as well as Jordanian, Lebanese, Japanese and Malaysian and the Kurdistan Region, submitted 83 research projects for the competition held on 29-30 April 2017 in Sulaimani.
The research team headed by Dr. Jassim Mohammed Abdul-Kareem Al-Jaf, with students Payman Sideq Saleh, Shadi Baker Ahmed and Meryan Kader Taher Agha, won the first prize in the competition for the research entitled (Study of the distribution of temperature and the rapid spread of flame in aircraft engines and missiles).
Another team from the university won the fifth place for their research project on smart homes, while a third team ranked 11th, for their research entitled (wireless electricity transmission).
Another research project presented by a research team from the Technical College of Engineering the team got the support and sponsorship of the head of Qaiwan Companies Group .(Shekh Fakhir Tayb Hassan) through adopting, Manufacturing and marketing of a sport device that enables the users to perform five exercises to strengthen the abdominal area, the team headed by Dr. Jassim Mohammed Abdul-Kareem Al-Jaf, and students Mahmoud Hashim Taher, Bawan Jamal Gharib, Shaima Ali Ahmed, Lava Abdulqader Mohammed and Meryan Kader Taher Agha.
