
Under the Banner of a Promising Technical Future
The Technical Education Council convened its third session at the Technical University of Bakur in Mosul, showcasing of academic leaders and experts.
Distinguished Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdulla Aziz, President of the University, led a delegation that included Professor Dr. Ali Qader Ousman, Assistant University President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Professor Dr. Diyari Ali Mohammed, Dean of the College of Computer Science. This session unfolded on Saturday, 12 April 2025, and fostered dialogue on advancing technical education across diverse institutions.
The conference also saw the participation of Professor Dr. Haider Abd Zahid, Federal Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, who chaired the event. Additionally, Presidents of Technical Universities from the Central, Southern, and Kurdistan regions were active contributors to the discussions.
The session commenced with an opening address by Professor Dr. Aliya Attar, President of the Technical University of Bakur. Expressing appreciation for hosting this significant event, Professor Dr. Attar highlighted the importance of exchanging insights and experiences among technical institutions.
The discussions centered around key strategic objectives:
1. Guidelines from the Chair of the Technical Education Council on expanding the technical education system and strategies for establishing private higher education institutes.
2. Establishing technical institutes focusing on applied intelligence.
3. Promoting technical expertise in non-governmental universities.
This gathering is a part of a series dedicated to laying the foundation for modern technical education systems aligned with the needs of the labor market and industrial advancements.
As part of the conference, the esteemed President of the University signed two memoranda of understanding—one with the Central Forat Technical University and another with the Bakur Technical University—highlighting collaboration and mutual academic progress.
