A Great Opportunity for Students of Sulaimani Polytechnic University

There is a great opportunity for all the students of Sulaimani Polytechnic University who are interested in participating with the U.S. students in an international program for cultural exchange and finding suitable solutions to the problems facing the community. The fifth round of the Sustainability Challenge Global Solutions Program has just started and 12
different teams will participate from the universities of Iraq, Jordan, and the USA. Students from Sulaimaniyah Polytechnic University and Santa Fe College in Florida will participate as a team. The team will begin discussions for eight weeks online, according to an organized program, to identify topics that are taking place within the community, and then finding a suitable solution to the problem that is considered important according to the views of both groups and offering prototype solutions and displaying them in the final competition. This program is supported by Stevens Initiatives and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and managed by Aspen Institute and implemented by the IREX Organization.

 

The terms and conditions of participation in the project:
1- To be a student at Sulaimaniyah Polytechnic University.
2- Have a passion for participating in the multicultural team.
3. Have a very good level of English language skills (speaking and writing)
4. Have the ability to think critically and solve problems.
5. Be responsible and perform the duties assigned to him in the team.
5. Be able to allocate at least 3 to 4 hours a week to work on the project.

 

The benefits of participating in this program are:
1. The participants will learn to identify problems and find appropriate solutions through training and special programs.

2. Taking part with the opposite team could lead to knowing about different cultures and the challenges facing diverse societies.
3. The winning team can obtain financial support to carry out the project from the sponsor of the program.

*It is worth mentioning that in the previous seasons, students at the Sulaimaniyah polytechnic University were able to obtain the first and third rank and gained financial support for implementing the projects.
