Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) has Achieved a New Success in the Field of Rankings
Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) has been ranked first in the Kurdistan Region and seventh in Iraq by the Arab University Classification Council and the Arab Organization for Culture and Science (ARU).
As part of its ongoing progress in academic internationalization, SPU has achieved a significant milestone in the latest rankings of Arab and Iraqi universities. In the 2024 ranking conducted by the Arab University Classification Council and the Arab Organization for Culture and Science (ALKSU), SPU has earned its place as a member of the Union of Arab Universities. The university ranked first in the Kurdistan Region and seventh among Iraqi universities by successfully meeting the key criteria set by ARU, which include:
- Education and Learning
- Scientific Research
- Innovation and Leadership
Additionally, SPU demonstrated its achievements in response to questions posed by the Arab University Classification Council and ARU regarding its academic programs and activities:
- Offering a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
- Conducting several courses for primary education graduates by 2023.
- Introducing multiple higher education courses for graduates by the 2023 classification year.
- Publishing numerous research papers in Scopus between 2021 and 2023.
This ranking reflects SPU’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and innovation.
