The International Conference on Digital Media and its Impact on Social Security in the Shadow of Domestic and International Law Began in the Conference Hall of Knowledge

At 10:30 pm on 27/4, and in the presence of  everal academic staff of both Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Knowledge University and a large number of researchers inside and outside Kurdistan Region, the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Digital Media and its Impact on Social Security in the Shadow of  omestic and International Law began in the conference hall of Knowledge University in Erbil.

The ceremony began with a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs and the national anthem of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Then several videos about both Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Knowledge University were shown and data about the number of colleges and departments of Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Knowledge University as well as the plans and objectives of both university were presented. Afterwards, Dr. Ahmad Dzeyi, President of Knowledge University read a joint speech of both Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Knowledge University.

In his speech, the President of Knowledge University welcomed the participants and pointed out the importance and impact of research related to digital media and its impact on society. In this era, the use of digital media is not governed by any law and thus has a negative impact on society. He also asked for the work of digital media to be regulated by law so as not to have a negative impact on society and protect society from its bad consequences.

In the ceremony, the shields of both Sulaimani Polytechnic University and Knowledge University were exchanged between by Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid, Vice President of Polytechnic University for Student Affairs as well as SPU’s President’s representative and Dr. Ahmad Dzeyi.

Then Dr. Hersh Rasul, Dean of the Technical College of Management and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference, delivered a speech. The Dean of the Technical College of Management said: the organization of the conference is the product of six months of continuous work and joint work of both the Technical Department of Media of the Technical College of Management of Sulaimani Polytechnic University.

He also mentioned that "Important ideas on the peaceful use of digital media will be presented during the conference". The conference will be held with the participation of researchers from eleven local and international universities and will present 40 papers on various topics.

This joint conference between the Department of Media Technique in the Technical College of Administration of Sulaimani Polytechnic University and the Department of Law and International Relations of Knowledge University; which will be held on Saturday and Sunday (April 27 and 28, 2024) at the Conference Hall of Knowledge University in Erbil is an extension of the first scientific conference on media and national issues which was organized by Sulaimani Polytechnic University in the hall of Titanic Hotel in Sulaimani in 2019.
