A workshop on liquefied Natural Gas Installation in Kurdistan Region was organized

To create job opportunities for the students and the young people in the region, Technical college of Engineering of Sulaimani Polytechnic University in collaboration with NGK Co. held a workshop on Liquefied Natural Gas Installation in Kurdistan Rehion.

The event was held at Chwar Chra campus and was attended by Dr. Atta Shekh Kareem, Dean of TCE and representatives from mayoral office, civil defense, Blue fire Co., Directorate of Oil and Gas as well as Departments of Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering.

At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Atta welcomed the attendees and briefly explained that Sulaimani Polytechnic University is working on making  students contribution to the society a core educational philosophy and this is at the top priority list of SPU objectives.

He said “this workshop aims at and moving towards working on projects according to world standards”. “We want to incorporate our professionals’ skills and work with local companies so that they employ as many young students and graduates as possible”, he added.

Dr. Hiwa Sdiq, founding board member of NGK Co. also said “we need SPU to prepare professionals in the field of LNG, this is why we decided to jointly hold this workshop”.

It’s worth mentioning that SPU frequently organizes academic events with numerous public and private academic and non-academic institutions, as a way to improve education quality and to create job opportunity for its graduates.
