A Workshop on Launching Digital Administration Services at Sulaimani Polytechnic University

On Wednesday, 3rd of February, 2021, a 4-hour workshop was held by a team from the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in order to shed light on the procedures of linking the digital administration services of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) to KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The event was attended by the Asst. Prof. Dr. Alan Farydoon, the University President, Prof. Dr. Soran Saeed, the Vice-President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dana Ahmed, the Vice-President for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Asos Khalil, head of Information System Management in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Ismaeel Yaqub, the member of Information System Management. Other participants of the workshop included Mr. Jamal Kaka Bra, the director of IT and Sabria Kareem, the director of Administration at the SPUPresidency, heads of IT divisions of the SPU colleges and institutes as well as the employees being in charge of inbox and outbox dossiers.

At the outset of the event, Mr. Jamal briefed the attendees about the significance of launching digital administration services and expressed his gratitude to the respective staff of the Ministry for their continuous support to help set up the system through which the daily administrative services of the university areelectronically connected to the Ministry and other universities. He went on to say that the operation of the system will bring about more efficiency, enhanced public services to better servethe academics and employees through reducing their travel expenses and less bureaucracy.

On his part, the representatives of the Ministry explained the facilitative role of the system which will initially focus on the administrative affairs, human resources, inbox and outbox of the university’s colleges and institutes.

From his side, the University President warmly welcomed the authorized staff of the ministry and commended their efforts to have installed the system aiming at promoting the role of technology at the universities and providing effective publicservices. He also reiterated his support for successful operations of the system.
