Participation of SPU’s academic staff in an EU-funded Erasmus+ ICM exchange program between the Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) and Masaryk University (MU).

Most recently, Mrs. Sara Dhiaadin Bahaddin, a lecturer at the City Planning Engineering department,
participated in the EU-funded Erasmus+ ICM exchange program between the Sulaimani Polytechnic
University (SPU) and Masaryk University (MU) in the Czech Republic. The program fund was jointly
applied for and obtained by Ms. Violeta Osouchova from MU and Digital Cultural Heritage Research
Center director, Dr. Rozhen Kamal Mohammed-Amin.
During her academic visit, which lasted for one week, Mrs. Sara attended several seminars and activities
on various topics related to environment and energy conservation in buildings. She also visited a
number of retrofitted historic buildings to be sustainable buildings with good energy conservation. She
will soon shares her visit experience and newly gained knowledge in a workshop with academics and
students from and outside SPU.
Since 2018, DCH group and (now) center at SPU has established an academic collaboration with MU
through Erasmus+ICM program. Every year, through an open call, the Erasmus+ exchange opportunities
are announced to all SPU faculty members, researchers, and staff. Selections are done in a competitive
manner based on criteria set by the host university in Czech Republic.
