An international workshop on “Smart cities” took place
On March 17th, 2021, the third international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network “Creative Cities” Training Program under the title “Smart cities” was held.
Over 197 participants from 45 different universities and government and non-government associations and organizations from a total of 7 countries (Iraq, Iran, Turkey, UK, Netherlands, Egypt, Tunis) attended the workshop, and locally participants attended from (Sulaymaniyah – Erbil – Kirkuk – Halabja – Koya- Baghdad – Musl -and Babil).
The 2 hour and a half workshop was presented by Dr. Rozhen Kamal Mohammed-Amin, Director of Digital Cultural Heritage Research Center and Lecturer at the City Planning Department at Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University.
The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The Network is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant from the UK government.
