An international workshop on “Digitization and Preservation of Library Collection” took place.
On February 21st, 2021, the 6th international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network “Digital Cultural Heritage” Training Program under the title “Digitization and Preservation of Library Collection ” was held.
Over 76 participants from 26 different universities and government and non-government associations and organizations from a total of 9 countries (Iraq, Iran, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Emirates, Egypt, Tunis) attended the workshop, and locally participants attended from (Sulaymaniyah – Erbil – karbela – Halabja – Diwaniya- and Babil).
The one and a half hour workshop was presented by Ammar Hussein Jawad, digital information manager at al abas holy shrine museum. During the workshop he discussed digitization and its preservation mechanisms.
The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The Network is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant from the UK
