Sulaimani Polytechnic University Remembered Sulaimani Day with Some Activities

In the continuation of the work and activity of the Sulaimani Polytechnic University/ Digital Cultural Heritage Research Center in, in the 236th anniversary of the establishment of Sulaimani, held a crowded ceremony at the Sara building.

In accordance with public safety measures, Digital Cultural Heritage Research Center at Sulaimani Polytechnic University in partnership with the Kurdistan National Art Group, Baban Center, Sophie Kareem Saraj, The Garryan Radio, and the Sara Cultural Center held a cultural event called ” Sulaimani, the city of life”, a ceremony and a variety of cultural and cultural activities.

In the activity that was held Tuesday 17th Of November 2020, the head of Sulaimani Polytechnic University and the assistant of the head of The University for the administration and finance and several intellectuals and personalities of Sulaimani city attended, at the beginning there was a moment of silence for the pure souls of the martyrs that lost their lives for the freedom of Kurdistan. At the ceremony Rozhin Kamal Mohammad Amin, the head of Digital Cultural Heritage Research Center of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, welcomed the participants and announced that the Sulaimani Polytechnic University as its permanent job commemorates the city of (halmat,qwrbani), and the capital of kurdistan region’s culture and also states that due to the Corona Pandemic this year, their activity was restricted, but they had a greater program in the university’s work to do .

Then the P.D. Alan Faraidun Ali Amin, the head of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, congratulated the loving people of Sulaymaniyah city and the attendees and also thanked the organizers of the ceremony and the activity and repeated that whatever is done for the memory of Sulaimani city, there is still little time to hold and keep up this memory. Then he Announced that the Sulaimani Polytechnic University considers it its duty to organize activities especially in the field of Cultural and remember this day with dignity. In his speech, the head of Sulaimani Polytechnic University sent his greetings to all those personalities who started to build, construct and keep Sulaymaniyah city growing and hoped that year after year Sulaymaniyah city will be more in growth. On this occasion, each of the jazay saz at the Kurdistan National and Derin Baban Art Group at the Baban and Akram Osman in the house of Sofi Karim and Mohammad Paczh at the sara cultural center and the representative of the women’s handiwork group presented their speeches.

The activities of The Day of Sulaimani included the exhibition of women’s handiwork, songs, music, the performance of the Flowergarden project and the performance of the sara project in which (the history and stories of Sulaimani are narrated by witnesses and historical figures themselves) and the Painting of what Sulaimani means to you and serving traditional Kurdish food.
