
In a Scientific and Academic Initiative, Sulaimani Polytechnic University Becomes the First to Conclude an Intensive Short-Term Pedagogy Course
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU), and in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research—Dr. Zhala Saeed Khatat, Director General of the Department of Research and Development, and Dr. Vian Mahmood Zamdar, Director of Pedagogy and Training Courses—as well as Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarhang Sarwat Hama, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, a graduation ceremony was held.
On November 30, 2025, at the SPU Presidency’s Piramerd Hall, the university hosted a ceremony to distribute certificates for the intensive short-term pedagogy course, along with letters of appreciation from the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Aram Mohammad Qadir, presented to academic staff members holding scientific titles.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Lecturer Dalia Mohammad Tariq, Director of the Pedagogy Center at Sulaimani Polytechnic University, delivered a welcome address. She highlighted the significance of the course content and encouraged faculty members to apply the newly acquired methodologies in their teaching practices.
Following this, Dr. Zhala Saeed Khatat delivered a speech on behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. She expressed gratitude to Sulaimani Polytechnic University for being the first institution to launch this intensive short-term course, describing it as a vital scientific and professional initiative. She also noted that SPU has consistently demonstrated leadership in scientific and academic endeavors. Additionally, she conveyed the Ministry’s appreciation to the trainers and graduates of the program.
The speech on behalf of Sulaimani Polytechnic University was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarhang Sarwat Hama, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, who emphasized the importance of such courses and their role in enhancing the university’s academic standards.
The ceremony concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participating lecturers.
