Sulaimani Polytechnic University and CDO Launch Drug Prevention Program

Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU), in collaboration with the Civilization Development Organization (CDO), has launched a comprehensive program to prevent drug and psychotropic substance abuse.

This initiative is part of the university’s ongoing strategy, in partnership with civil society organizations, to raise awareness and prevent substance abuse among students. The first activity of the program focused on training educational guides in high schools in Sulaimani and surrounding areas, equipping them to identify and mitigate risks related to drug use among students.

On the first day, Prof. Ahmad Mohammed, a health expert at SPU, delivered a session on prevention strategies and the dangers of drugs. Training was conducted in groups, with the first group successfully completing their sessions.

The three-day program includes a variety of scientific and educational activities, designed to strengthen the capacity of educational instructors to raise awareness and implement effective drug prevention measures among students.
