Scientific Conference on Renewable Energies Held in Sulaymaniyah

In recognition of the importance of embracing modern science and the technological advancements reshaping our world for a prosperous future, Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University and Northern Technical University—headquartered in Mosul—jointly organized the Scientific Conference on Renewable Energies on Sunday, April 20, 2025. The event was held in collaboration with several other universities and scientific institutions.

The conference was meticulously prepared under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of Sulaymaniyah Polytechnic University, and Professor Dr. Aliyaa Abbas Ali Atar, President of Northern Technical University. They were joined by Dr. Heval Abubakr, the governor of Sulaymaniyah, members of the university council, and a number of distinguished researchers and professors. The event took place in Azizeddin Mustafa Rasul’s Hall at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Sulaymaniyah.

The conference began with a few verses from the Holy Quran and standing for a moment of silence for the souls of the martyrs with the national anthem of Iraq and Kurdistan.

In their opening remarks, both university presidents emphasized the importance of the conference theme and the choice of Sulaymaniyah as the host city. They highlighted the significant scientific efforts being made to address current limitations and the emerging challenges facing humanity. Both presidents stressed the need to initiate dialogue on contemporary issues and explore innovative solutions that serve the advancement of human life.

The opening session continued with presenting two scientific papers to the participants. To conclude the session, appreciation awards were jointly presented by the university presidents to members of the university council, participants, and contributing researchers.

It was announced that the conference will last for two days.
