Sulaimani Polytechnic University Participated in the Largest Conference of Admission and Registration Officials of the Arab Organization for Universities in the Sultanate of Oman
Muscat, Oman – The 41st Conference of Student Admission and Registration Officers of the Arab Organization for Arab Universities was held in the Sultanate of Oman on December 14th, 2024.
Representing the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Asst. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid Sharif, Vice President for Student Affairs, and Dr. Rebaz Jalil, Director of the General Registry at Sulaimani Polytechnic University, participated in the conference.
The event was chaired by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al-Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation of Oman, addressed the ethical and legal challenges of ensuring the responsible use of artificial intelligence technology and explored the future of admission and registration systems.
During the 4-day conference, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid Sharif emphasized that Sulaimani Polytechnic University’s participation aligns with the university’s commitment to advancing higher education both locally and across the Arab region. He highlighted the importance of adopting modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, to accelerate digital transformation, improve administrative processes, and enhance student experience.
He also reiterated the university’s dedication to its role as a leading academic institution, committed to preparing future leaders through strategic partnerships that foster scientific research and innovation to benefit local and regional communities.
The conference featured discussions on more than 30 scientific papers and was attended by 150 experts from within and beyond the Sultanate of Oman.
