A Joint Conference was Held Between our University and Directorate of Education in Kifri on Environment

A joint conference was held between Sulaimani Polytechnic University/Kalar Technical College and the directorate of education in Kifri with the aim of research and scientific discussion on environmental and climate changes and how to deal with them.

On Wednesday 16-11-2022, in the hall of events, in Kifri district in the presence of (Dr. Chia Mohammed Hassan) the Dean of Kalar Technical College, (Shamal Namiq) the Governor of Kafri district, (Ali Khurshid) the Mayor and (Mr. Ismail) the Director of the directorate of education in Kifri, some activists, and university teachers, a joint conference entitled (the dangers of environmental pollution and responsibility to keep the environment clean) was held by Kalar Technical College and the directorate of education in Kifri. The conference began with a moment of silence for the souls of the martyrs. Then the governor of Kifri district delivered a speech in which he highlighted the role and importance of the conference at this time when the environment of the Kurdistan Region and the world has seen changes and scientific efforts should be made to reduce the damage to humanity.

Then Asst. Prof. Dr. Chia Mohammed Hassan, the Dean of Kalar Technical College, in a speech stressed that because of their responsibility the idea of such a conference was planned to serve the environment and reduce the damage caused by climate change.

After that, the Director of Education in Kufri presented his speech. The conference lasted for two days, and two panels were held on the first day. The first panel entitled (Environmental and Climate Conditions and Risks) was presented by the panelists who presented several important topics which consisted of:

1- Dr. Faisal Ali, President of Kurdistan Economic Council

2- Dr. Rizgar Abdulkarim, Lecturer at Sulaimani Polytechnic University

3-Dr. Karzan Abdullah, Dean of Halabja College of Practical Sciences

4- Ali Adnan Engineer/Environmental Trainer who presented some important data and information about the environment and the threats to the environment.

In the second panel of the discussion, several important issues related to the environment were discussed by Dr. Drid Salim, Director of Garmian Environmental Office, Engineer (Ali Khurshid) the Mayor of Kifri, and (Nawzad Hamid) the Director of Water around Garmian.
