Sulaimani Polytechnic University Started the First IELTS Test

Following the agreement between both the British Council and Sulaimani Polytechnic University, the English Language Center of the university conducted the first IELTS test on 4/8/2016, supervised by representatives of the BC from Iraq and Kurdistan Region.

Each of Dr.Alan Faraydoon President of the SPU, and vice president for Scientific Affairs Dr .Soran Saeed as well as Vice president for Finance and Administration Affairs Dr.Dana Mustafa and Mr.Hogr Tawfiq Head of the Language Center attended the test that has been conducted in two stages theoretical and practical ,on this regard, Mr.Hogr Stated that implementing of IELTS test is one of the important test on both level locally and Internationally as it is considered a condition for the students to be conducted before joining Master & PhD Studies .

He added, it is great achievement for both Kurdistan region and Sulaimani City to conduct the test as it has been the first governmental University conducting the test with international level and in cooperation with the British Council, furthermore the center provides courses for learning English Language under the supervision of the BC, the participants receive intensive and effective training that enable them to pass IELTS successfully, and we will work in cooperation with the presidency to improve the studying process for the lessons in the colleges that are being presented in English language.

It is worth to mention that both SPU and BC and in accordance with an agreement signed between both sides, on 11th of July and in the presence of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research the IELTS Hall test in the English Language Center opened and under the direct supervision of the BC and the hall is certified by the BC as an International one.
