XR Technologies for Preserving and Re-Imagining Our Past workshop was held
“XR Technologies for Preserving and Re-Imagining Our Past” workshop was co-organized by the
Architecture & Interior Design Departments at Tishk International University, the Digital Cultural
Heritage Research Center at Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and their British partner Nahrein Network
which was held at Tishk International University- Sulaimani Campus on April 18, 2022.
Dr. Rozhin Kamal, Director of the Digital Cultural Heritage Research Center and Co-Director of the
Nahrein Network, first presented a session titled "How VR and AR technologies are changing our world."
Dr. Hozan Latif, a lecturer at Tishk International University- Sulaimani Campus, then gave a second
session titled "Collaborative Learning Method Through Virtual Reality."
In another part of the activity, the academic staff and students of Architecture & Interior Design
Departments at TIU tested DCH centers AR & VR project and Yazdas “Nobody’s Listening” VR project and
expressed their thoughts on their significance to the application of this technologies in architecture and
interior design fields and virtually visiting heritage architecture buildings and places.
