An international workshop on “From ivory towers into civic universities” took place
On June 30th, 2021, the 6th international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network “Creative Cities” Training Program under the title “From ivory towers into civic universities ” was held.
Over 97 participants from 30 different universities and government and non-government organizations from a total of 3 countries (Iraq, India, and Malaysia) attended the workshop. Within Iraq, the participants came from Sulaymaniyah, Erbil, Babylon, Halabja, Koya, Khanaqin, and Duhok.
The workshop was presented by Prof. Olli Niemi, an Advisor for the Finnish Education Group – FEG Ltd, a retired Professor, and a civil engineer from Finland.
The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The Network is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant from the UK government.
