The University Honored a Number of Retired Teachers and Employees on the Anniversary of the Foundation of Sulaimani

The activities of the anniversary of the foundation of Sulaimani were held under the direct supervision of the President of the university. The Directorate of Media and Activities in coordination with the Department of Media and Activities of Sulaimani Technical Institute held a ceremony to honor a number of retired teachers and employees, also several medical and artistic activities were presented. In the event, which was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, SUP president, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarhang Sarwat Hama Karim, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Education, Dr. Bakhtiar Obaid Sharif, Vice president for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hersh Rasul, Dean of Technical College of Management; Asst. Prof. Dr. Choman Alauddin, Dean of Sulaimani Technical Institute; Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Reza, Dean of Bakrajo Technical Institute, as well as a number of teachers, employees and students were present. After a few moments of silence and paying tribute to the martyrs, Mr. Hemn Qadir, Assistant Dean of Sulaimani Technical Institute, delivered a welcoming speech. Then the president of the university delivered a speech and talked about the development of higher education in Sulaimani city and said that: “Sulaimani Technical Institute, which is the foundation of our university and then Garmian Polytechnic University and several colleges and institutes are part of the growth that this city has seen. Therefore, it is appropriate to congratulate the 239th anniversary of the founding of this city and through its service we can give back some of the good that this city has given us.” He also said that this city has faced many obstacles, but always caring and loyal people have given their shoulders to serve, and the lamp of progress and prosperity has remained shining. Regarding the role of teachers, employees and students, the president said that they are proud of those who continue to serve and train the teaching process. In addition to defending the rights of all teachers and employees, he said that the university will always support and defend all their rights. At the end of his speech, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz turned to the teachers and employees, who retired in the past and now do not work together in administrative work and said that they will never forget the good deeds of this class. That is why he thanked all the retirees and wished them long life and good health. Finally, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, SUP president, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kawa Reza, Dean of Bakrajo Technical Institute presented certificates of appreciation to the retired teachers and employees, then visited several artistic and health activities that were held on this day inside the campus of Sulaimani Technical Institute.
