SPU delegates participate in an international workshop in Baghdad

A team of Quality Assurance Board, Subject Area Board, and Internationalization Working Group from Sulaimani Polytechnic University participates in an international workshop in Baghdad from September 17th – 19th 2023.

The workshop was held by (UNESCO) and it is scheduled to last three days is part of a program known as TVET2, the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Reform Program in Kurdistan and Iraq – Phase II, and funded by the European Union.

The project is implemented by UNESCO. Through this project, UNESCO works intensively with polytechnic universities to assist people acquire knowledge and skills for the world of work and aims to help create sustainable jobs for young people. From the KRG, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, Erbil Polytechnic University, and Duhok Polytechnic University are participating.

The SPU team was comprised of Dr. Bakhtiar Ibrahim Saeed, Mrs. Shara Salih Ali, Mr. Miran Hama Rahim Saeed, Mrs. Maha Sabah Saeed from the Quality Assurance Board & Subject Area Board,  Dr. Abdul Basit Burhan Karim, Mr. Jamal Faiq Kaka Bra and Mr. Jutyar Fatih Awrahman from and Internationalization Working Group.

The university team along with representatives of six other polytechnic universities in Kurdistan and Iraq presented their Quality Assurance Plan, Subject Area program, and Internationalization Enhancement Plan for the new degree and presented their views on various aspects of quality assurance and internationalization plan relevant to the new degree particularly and the university as a whole.
