With the Participation of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, the Project (ISDEHARAK) to Pay Attention to the Agricultural Sector was Announced

In the presence of the president of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (Prof. Asst. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz) and the Head of International Relations of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (Prof. Asst. Mr. Awder Mohammed Ahmad) participated in the workshop on the launch and announcement of the project (ISDEHARAK). The main project stakeholders are the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of both the Iraqi and Kurdistan Regional Governments. The purpose of the workshop was to present the objectives of the project, which is related to the development and attention to the agricultural sector in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The project also discussed the plans and stages of implementation of the project and discussed the challenges facing the project and how to overcome them and find solutions. On behalf of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the President of the Quality Assurance Agency (Dr. Mohammed Hussein), member of the ISDEHARAK Project Management Committee, delivered a speech at the beginning of the workshop: “Through this project, we will work to develop a good educational environment that pays attention to quality, critical thinking, innovation, research and investment, modernizing our institutions, improving infrastructure and providing advanced equipment for agricultural education centers, ministries and universities” They shall cooperate in the development of curricula that reflect the basic principles of technical and vocational education and training, provide skills that are in line with the needs of the labor market, and provide a skilled workforce that ensures economic and social development. The project (The Iraqi Skill Development by European Union Holistic Agriculture Recovery through Advanced Knowledge) (ISDEHARAK) has been allocated approximately €10 million over three years to support the development efforts of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system, which is of great importance for the livelihood of farmers and the economy of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The ISDEHARAK project focuses on two main aspects: the first is to support new and advanced teaching methods in the field of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in agriculture, on the other hand, the project focuses on improving technical and personal skills) to empower youth including women, boys, girls and refugees.
