A Debate to Inform the High school Graduates in Sulaimani:The Procedures of Applying to Colleges and Institutes

Academic and educational leaders in the SPU called on graduates of the sixth preparatory stage to be able to select the scientific disciplines they choose to complete their university studies and determine their practical future, pointing out that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Kurdistan has provided them with several options to apply to colleges and institutes, either directly or through Zanko line as well as study on the expense of private.

This came during a debate held on September 9, 2017 at the “Tawar” Hall in Sulaimani under the patronage one of the leaders of the PUK, Lahor Shekh Jangi and in the presence of both presidents of SPU and Univ Sul, Dr.Alan Faraidoon and Dr.Ratha Hassan as well as the Director General of Education, as well as a group of university and educational specialists and graduates of the High school.

Lecturers added, the graduates can take several ways to complete their academic studies in the current academic year according to the instructions of the Ministry of Higher Education and scientific research in Kurdistan, pointing out that the first known as the system “Zanko Line”, for those who got higher than 80%, and from the first round.

The second method of acceptance is the direct submission of the departments concerned with the colleges or institutes according to their wishes by filling out the application form and passing a special exam later, before the degree of differentiation is calculated according to a formula that allocates 70% of the student’s exam rate and 30%, Indicating that the lowest rate of admission to colleges and institutes is 60%.

The officials participating in the seminar said that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Kurdistan provided two preparatory methods for the students to complete their university studies, and they are parallel and evening studies, through paying fees for their studies.

The officials called on the students to expedite the review of the colleges or institutes to see the available specialization to determine the sections they wish to apply to them, wishing them success to serve their community and contribute to its development.
