A Delegation from European Union Visited Sulaimani Polytechnic University
On Thursday, September 8, 2022, Assistant Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, the president of Sulaimani Polytechnic University received a delegation from the European Union. Brothers Michael and Jean Maries, experts from the European Union for the promotion of vocational and technical education and Dr. Hawkar Rashid, Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, visited Bakrajo Technical Institute.
In a meeting held in the presence of Dr. Kamil Saber Saeed, Dean of Bakrajo Technical Institute, Dr. Karzan Abdullah Mohammed, Dean of Halabja College of Practical Sciences, Dr. Chia Mohammed Hassan, Dean of Kalar Technical College. The president of the SPU welcomed the delegation and talked about the challenges and problems of the agricultural departments of the university and said, we in SPU and since the beginning of our work have tried to renew all our departments Strengthen the classrooms and laboratories and with the support and assistance of the European Union and according to the program that we have in the university, the programs of our agricultural departments to be compatible with the new science in the field of agriculture and renew.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz said, we intend to improve the scientific level of our teachers and students in agricultural science, so that our university becomes an important center of research and development of the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region. Our graduates can easily become their own employers in this field and at the same time become a factor for progress and innovation in the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region.
The president asked the guest delegation to integrate Sulaimani Polytechnic University into their programs and for this purpose the university is ready to provide all facilities and assistance and expressed the university’s desire to conduct training and improve the scientific capacity of teachers and students of agricultural departments.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, the president of the Sulaimani Polytechnic University, instructed the deans and heads of departments to prepare their agenda and strategy to adapt to the program of the delegation and make every effort to obtain the financial support provided by the European Union in the future.
In turn, the guest delegation discussed the agenda and program of their visit and the content of their work in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region and expressed their pleasure with the attention of SPU and intensive discussions were held between the participants and the guest delegation.
