SPU Organized a Scientific Debate about the Responsibility of the Media

Today 24/2/2015 presidency of SPU organized a cultural discussion entitled “Media Responsibility in the War against Terrorism”.

The president of SPU,Dr.Alan Faraidoon and Technical College of Administration sponsored the debate in collaboration with the University branch of the group Kurdistan students, Dr. Hakim Othman, Dean of the Technical College Administration as well as specialist and professor of media Dr. Yahya Reshawy in addition to general manager of the Academy of the German media and former editor-in-Chief of Awena Newspaper Mr. Dana Asaad ,journalist and member of the Media Center for National Union of Kurdistan Mr.Anwar Hussain attended the debate.

The discussion was about how to deal with the media in the light of the circumstances which passes by the Kurdistan Region in the war against terrorism and also clarified how to handle the media and the press channels with events a way that serves the Kurdistan and not ISIS, For example disseminate information on the fighting fronts serve ISIS not Peshmarga aims. Thus the press should deal with the events the way that serves the Peshmerga and not enemies Front because sometimes some news will be for the benefit of enemy front.

At the end of the debate the attendees presented their thoughts and observations on the topic.
