Directorate of health and safety at Sulaimani Polytechnic University was established on November 2012, and in terms of administrative structure belongs to university vice president for student affairs. The mission of this directorate is to provide a safe and healthy environment for students, instructors and employees. In this context, our directorate in the Presidency of Sulaimani Polytechnic University through a special committee consisting of employees of the directorate, continuously monitors the health and safety situations( buildings, laboratories, cafeterias and dormitories) of all colleges and institutes affiliated to our university, in order to take the initiative to identify shortcomings and submit reports to the assistant provost for student affairs and relevant parties for necessary actions and work to prevent any unwanted incidents in the workplace. Furthermore, our directorate annually conducts various health activities, such as celebrating World Health Days, spreading awareness about epidemics and common diseases and providing relevant supplies to all colleges and institutes. Also participating in the committees and activities of our university related to the health and safety of students, instructors and employees. It is worth mentioning in all the colleges and institutes related to Sulaimani Polytechnic University, which are (13) colleges and institutes, directorate of health and safety has subbranches of health and safety which is constantly in contact with them to ensure the safety of their working environment and follow up their requests.

 

The Health and Safety Directorate consists of three branches:
1. Branch of Sociology.
2. Branch of Environment.
3. Branch of Chemical safety.
