Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) is dedicated to advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). The university can all prosper when the university lessen inequality and embraces variety. This policy outlines our dedication to making sure that every member of the university community receives equitable treatment, is treated with decency and respect, and has an equal chance to achieve.


The University makes ensuring that no person or group of people receives less favourable treatment because of a protected trait. The university must also make sure that individuals who might be at a disadvantage can obtain the resources necessary to take advantage of the same chances as their peers. The University guarantees the impartiality, openness, and absence of prejudice and discrimination in all policies, procedures, and practices. Regardless of age, handicap, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy and motherhood, race, religion or belief, or sexual orientation, the university is required to provide equal opportunities for all members of the university community. The University works to end all forms of victimisation, harassment, and discrimination. Additionally, periodically evaluates its practices, rules, and processes to make sure they are successful in promoting.

Sulaimani Polytechnic University works hard to draw in and keep international faculty, staff, and students who view our institution as forward-thinking and cutting edge, a place where they belong and are respected for the amazing diversity of identities and life experiences that they bring to the campus and the community. Only until the university have gained a better understanding of and ability to control our unconscious biases will the university be able to establish an inclusive atmosphere. The university is dedicated to fostering an environment where everyone in the community is treated with respect and feels appreciated. All members of the university community are encouraged to fully engage in and contribute to the life of the university, and the university works to foster this environment. To encourage comprehension and knowledge of EDI-related issues, the university offers training and development opportunities to all members of the university community. The University will make sure that the proper steps are taken to resolve complaints of victimisation, harassment, and discrimination.
