SPU Research Center held “Towards a Healthy and Secure Food Production System” symposium
To improve agriculture and food production system in Kurdistan Region and to create a connecting network between scientific research firms, production, consumer and all stakeholders in the agriculture and food production, and to commemorate the foundation of the university; in collaboration with Chwar Chra company the Research Center of SPU organized titled “Towards a Healthy and Secure Food Production System” in which four seminars were presented by the members of Agricultural Studies research group.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Soran Saed, Vice President for scientific affairs and graduate studies, and a number of researchers and teachers from SPU and other academic institutions from Sulaimani area. The symposium was held at Lynex hall at New Chwar Chra city, Sulaimani and was aimed at introducing the newly formed Agricultural Studies research group where a group of specialized researchers works together to produce high-quality research that can tackle the ever-growing problems in food production.
The following seminars were presented during the symposium:
- Food Security and Production System in the Kurdistan Region by Hanar Azad, Assist. Lecturer and member of AS research group.
- The Current Status of Chemical Pesticide Usage in Kurdistan Region by Rebwar Ahmed, Lecturer and founding head of AS research group.
- Sustainable Agriculture and Dealing with Disease by Hemn Ne’ma.
- Biotechnology and Disease Control: using Resistive Gene for Strong Controlling System by Dzhwar Zahir.
