German university confirms its readiness to cooperate with the universities of Kurdistan and the opening of an office in Sulaimani
SPU Presidency received Dr. Uwe Muus, Director of International Relations at the Germany University of Georg August Gottingen in the presidency of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, on Sunday 7/6/2015, and in the presence of vice-president for scientific affairs,Dr .Nasih Qaradaghi ,and Dr.Khalid Ismail Vice-president for students affairs, as well as Dean of Computer Science Institute,Dr.Soran Abu Bakir,Bakhtyar Sharif Director of Academic Relations and Mr.Jamal Kakbra Director of , during which Ministry of Higher education and scientific research in the KRG renewed its eagerness to expand and consolidate its relationship with German universities, while German University expressed its desire to cooperate with the Scientific and academic Institute in the Kurdistan Region and opening an office in Sulaimani, Dr.Polla Khanaqa, President of KISSR said .
During the meeting,Dr.Polla said that Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dr. Yousif Goran during his visit to Germany in 2014, agreed to expand and consolidate the prospects of joint cooperation between the scientific and academic institutions of the two sides and signed several memoranda of understanding with them, also Mr.Bakhtiar SPU Director of Academic Relations during the meeting, said that Dr. Polla, accompanied Minister of Higher Education of Kurdistan , during the signing of memorandums of understanding with the German side , and he acted on behalf of the President of the SPU , who is currently taking part in a scientific conference in Turkey stressing on the desire of the SPU to expand the framework of cooperation with Germany University through the exchanging of experiences and scientific research and scientific visits.
On his turn, Director of international relations at Georg University – August expressed the readiness of the Germany university to activate the memorandum of mutual understanding with the Kurdistan universities , especially SPU, and the provision of free seats for students in programs for postgraduate studies , and contribute to the joint supervision of the programs of the Master ‘s and doctoral degrees , as well as cooperation in the field of scientific publishing and other fields that contribute in strengthening the cooperation of the two universities , “asserting that ” the university will open an office in Sulaimani to be the third in the world after China and India . ”
