A Series of Events to Commemorate the 117 Years Anniversary of the First Kurdish Press

The Commemoration Of The Passage Of 117 Years On The Kurdish Press Starts With The Showcase Of Artworks Of Students Of Both Institutes Of Technical College of Administration and Sulaimani Technical Institute.

Assist Prof. Dr. Alan F. Ali ,president of SPU and Vice President for Administrative Affairs Dr. Shirzad as well as Dean of the Technical College of Administration, Dr. Hakim with group of professors and journalists attended the 117 year anniversary of the Kurdish Press which started with the showcase of artworks of students of Media department at both Technical College of Administration and Sulaimani Technical Institute.

D.Hakim,dean of the college stated ,22/4 coincides the issuance of the first Kurdish newspaper released by the media department every year at Sulaimani Technical Institute, and What distinguishes this year is the opening of a new section entitled Media Department at the Technical College of Administration is the opening of this section will provide opportunities for students to obtain bachelor’s degree in the field of media, besides, such exhibitions provides opportunities for students to work in news organizations and television channels as well as job opportunities in the field of designing newspapers and magazines , which is one of the requirements of the times today.

It is worth mentioning that today is going through 117 years of the issuance of the first Kurdish newspaper in Kurdish language entitled Kurdistan by Miqdad Badrkhan and Abdulrahman Badrkhan.
