A Brief about the department:

Computer Networks Department locates in the technical college of informatics; completion study in the department is four academic years. Head and his rapporteur offices are on the first floor of the college building.  It has one study hall and two computer laboratories containing twenty and forty laptops respectively.

Historical summary about the department:

Computer Networks Department first opened with the beginning of the college in Oct-2013, its name was Networks Management.  Students started in the second stage since they were technical computer institute graduates and the university plan was taking them into the second stage, however, students from high school should start from the first stage but the college did not have stage one in its first year, 2013-2014. The department name changed to Computer Networks in 2016. The first graduation ceremony was held in the study year 2015-2016 with only nine graduates of students.

Aims of the department:

The department aims to develop students for society in networking areas, in which they have sufficient information to build networks and supervise technical issues in public and private sectors.

Importance of the department in the market:

Today nearly most of the public places go into globalization, so people need services like the internet. To serve and supervise it, graduates like our students are the first people who introduce and recover a big service as the internet and all aspects of networking in market places.

Importance of the department in society:

Our lovely society without networking experts suffers from plenty of services daily like calling, security cameras, the internet, and all other types of communication. Consequently, our graduates will serve the society to manage and recover all the technical issues that encounter them.

Types of works can be implemented by the graduates of this department:

1. Building a wired network or wireless.
2. Setting up an ideal Rack containing Switches, Routers, and Cable Management.
3. Managing and Monitoring Networks.
4. Setting up Security Cameras.
5. Setting VOIP.
6. Creating Web Applications.
7. Creating Mobile Applications.
8. Creating programs using Java programming language.
9. Creating a Database using Java.

Which title can be given to the graduates of this department?

They will be Assistant Programmer but we wish to have a title like “Network Expert” or any suitable name.

What are the pre-requisites of the students enable success in this department:

1. The ability of the English Language.
2. The ability to solve math equations quickly. Mainly having good thinking and decision.
3. The ability to use the fundamentals of computers.
