About RC
The Research Center (RC), as a part of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) brings together local and international scholars and researchers to undertake state-of-art high-quality research. Through our group research projects, we strive to create new knowledge that academically contributes to sciences, arts, and humanities. By collaborating with our local and international partners, our intellectuals undertake research projects that address local and global needs and challenges. Our research projects involve and engage stakeholders from academia, local government, community, NGOs, and industry. We encourage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research and therefore, connect ideas and scholars from different fields and disciplines in our projects.

Research Area
our research area are divided into the following seven directorates that support science and engineering research and education: Biological Sciences, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Environmental sciences, Geo sciences, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, and Education and Human Resources. Each is headed by an assistant director and each is further subdivided into divisions. Within SUP RC Office of the Director, the Office of Integrative Activities also supports research and researchers. Other sections of RC are devoted to financial management, award processing and monitoring, legal affairs, outreach and other functions.

Terms & Conditions
- The researcher must work in a research center or digital cultural research center.
- The reduction of the quota shall be at the rate of half of the quota.
- The researcher must participate in scientific activities and research and must be supported in writing by the head of the center (Scientific Research Center) or (Digital Cultural Research Center) who have participated in scientific activities and research in the centers.
- Researchers are required to conduct a seminar every three months in their colleges and institutes about their research and scientific activities in the university research center.
- Complete a research (individually or in partnership) within at least one year and try to publish the research in an accredited journal Scopus or Impact Factor.
- 6- The researcher must send an official letter of support to the college or place where he works in order to reduce half of the quorum in which he has participated in scientific activities and research in the centers For scientific affairs and higher education.
- Any financial incentives and rewards for publishing research in university research centers for teachers and researchers shall be in accordance with the applicable financial guidelines.

History
Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) is a public academic institution and a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU) and a constituent of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU). It is located in the city of Sulaimani, Qirga neighborhood in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It was founded in 1996 under the name of Foundation of Technical Institutions, and then in 2003 it was altered to Foundation of Technical Education in Sulaimani (FTES), after that it was restructured into Sulaimani Polytechnic University in 201
