Academic Departments
This department was opened for the first time in the academic year 2007-2008 under the name of the Department of Geometric Drawing. The duration of study was two years, like all scientific departments in technical institutes, except for two months of practical training in government offices or private sector projects. At the end of the study, students receive a technical diploma.
Students admitted to this department must have graduated from grade (12) scientific branch or graduated from similar departments of electricity in vocational high schools.
The Department of Surveying was established in 1992. The aim of opening this department at the Sulaymaniyah Technical Institute is to prepare a Specialized staff in the field of the survey of engineering projects and be an assistant to the civil engineer in the projects. Graduates of this department have an important role to play in the survey of engineering projects such as construction, agriculture, roads, etc.,
This department was established in 1989-1990 to train professional center staff experts in the field of production, the ways of manufacturing equipment and materials of industrial products to assist mechanical engineers in the processes of quantity and quality control and development and implementation of products.
