Bakrajo Technical Institute (BTI) is an institution of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) which is a public institute. It is located in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Bakrajo District in Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is one of the important scientific and cultural centers in the region.

BTI has undergone several changes, initially, it was a part of the Sulaimani Technical Institute (STI) and consisted of only two departments, namely the plant protection and industrial crops departments. In 2007, the two departments were separated from STI, and the institute underwent significant upgrades with the installation of more laboratories. It became an independent institution called the “Bakrajo Technical Agriculture Institute” which included the previous two departments and three more agricultural departments. Furthermore, in 2016, the institute went through another upgrade where agricultural departments closed and adopted a multidisciplinary approach. It was then renamed as “Bakrajo Technical Institute” to reflect this new focus.

Bakrajo Technical Institute consists of the following departments:

  2. Garden Design.
  3. E-Management.
  4. Protected Agriculture.
