Following the announcement of an opportunity to participate in an intensive cybersecurity course for university and institute students and graduates, a notable number of students in the city of Sulaimani took part.
Under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Hoshyar Abdullah Aziz, President of Sulaimani Polytechnic University, the Cisco Academy Chwarchra Campus at Sulaimani Polytechnic University successfully conducted the course in cooperation with the U.S. Mission.Intensive Cybersecurity Course for University and Institute Students and Graduates Successfully Completed
The course, which aimed to provide equal opportunities for all young people and individuals interested in the field, was announced on the website and across all official pages of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (news link). Within three days, more than 250 students and graduates from public and private universities in Sulaimani submitted applications.
Applicants came from Sulaimani University, the American University of Iraq–Sulaimani, Komar University, the University of Human Development, Qaiwan International University, Tishk International University, the University of Cihan, Goizha University, and Sulaimani Polytechnic University. Taking into consideration the number of applicants from each university, the instructors’ expertise, and gender equality, students and graduates were selected from all the participating universities.
The course focused on cybersecurity, with instructors highlighting practical topics and the essential skills required in the field. The content was tailored to the needs and competencies of the cybersecurity job market.
Several internal and external specialists participated in delivering the lectures throughout the course. In addition, cybersecurity experts from companies such as IQ Company generously contributed to the administration of the course.
