Medical Laboratory Science

         The Medical Laboratory Science Department was established in 2019 in Halabja Technical College, Sulaimani Polytechnic University. The study in this department is based on the Bologna process. It is the first medical department in our college. The first graduation class was in the 2022-2023 academic year and till now we had two graduation alumni. The staff of this department consists of one professor, two PhD holders, and five Master’s degrees. The laboratories of this department include (Molecular Biology, Hematology, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology).

Vision

Training of technical cadres with bachelor’s degrees. Connecting the department to the community by providing scientific and professional services and advice. Training of scientific cadres with research specialties in medical laboratories.

Also training of specialized graduates at the levels of bachelor’s and higher education in the field of medical laboratories with modern skill and knowledge, with the modern technology.

Mission

The department works to develop technical and professional education in terms of quantity and quality that meets the needs of society in different fields of medical laboratories.

Goals and objectives

Graduates of this department will have job opportunities in medical laboratories in the private and public sectors. They will also have the opportunity to continue their higher education and scientific research.
