The Technical College of Applied Science in Halabja continues to provide students with technical and applied education to meet the needs of the local job market and economy, Which includes the followings; to increase enrollment by offering new and relevant programs that meet the demands of the local job market, to enhance the quality of education by improving the skills and knowledge of our faculty and staff through professional development and training, to establish partnerships with local businesses, industries, and community organizations, and to provide students with opportunities for internships, practical experience, and employment.
The Technical College of Applied Science in Halabja was established in 2005 as the Agricultural Technical College with two departments, namely the Food Industry and Crop Science. However, in 2004, the name of the college was changed to the Technical College of Applied Science due to the decreasing demand for the agriculture departments.
Today, the college offers three departments:
- Food Science and Quality Control
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Agriculture Project Management

Dean’s Message
Halabja Technical College was established in 2005 to provide high-quality technical education to the residents of Halabja and its surroundings. Our college offers several comprehensive scientific programs through our three scientific departments, which include Medical Laboratory Science, Food Science and Quality Control, and Medicinal Plants. From this perspective, we are proud to have been able to provide an inclusive and diverse learning environment for our students. The college has had a significant impact on the development of the region through various applied, educational, and scientific activities. We are proud to have actively participated in all administrative sectors of Halabja such as health, environment, management, technology, and agriculture. We believe that our students are an integral part of our community and can contribute to the development of the area through their skills and knowledge. Our college faculty and staff are highly qualified and experienced in providing the best educational process services to our students and providing modern laboratories and classrooms to ensure that our students benefit in their fields of expertise. Finally, we strive to maintain the academic standards that produce a high-level college so that our graduates have the necessary skills and knowledge to find jobs and develop their careers in the future. We are confident that this college will provide a modern and scientific education for our students and help them achieve their goals.
