A Japanese Student to Continue his Study at Sulaimani Polytechnic University

A Japanese student selected Sulaimani Polytechnic
University to complete part of his study among the other
universities in the Kurdistan Region.
On Monday 29/11/2021, Professor Dr.Soran Abubakr,
the Vice president for Scientific Affairs, and Shirwan
Hamid, the director of the International office at the
presidency of SPU, welcomed the Japanese student,
Kokki Sia.
Then, they talked about strengthening the academic
relations between Sulaimani Polytechnic University and
the Universities of Japan. As reported, SPU was the first
university in the Kurdistan region to sign an MOU with
Nagasaki University in Japan.
In the meeting, the Vice president for Scientific Affairs
highlighted the importance of cooperating the
universities of the region with the universities of the
world in general and the universities of Japan in

particular and he expressed that SPU is ready for any
kind of collaboration in this field.
Finally, Kokki Sia told the university website reporter that
he chose to study at SPU as it is the only university in the
region that has academic relations with the universities
in Japan.
