An international workshop Entitled “The Nahrein Network Research Grant Awards” took place
On 3/11/2021, an international joint workshop of the #DCH-NN (Nahrein Network) entitled,
“The Nahrein Network Research Grant Awards " took place.
Over 210 participants from 46 different universities and government and non-government
organizations from a total of 5 countries (Iraq, Sweden, Austria, Malaysia, Algeria). And locally
in Iraq, participants attended the workshop from 15 different cities and Towns, including
(Baghdad, Sulaimani, Erbil, Kirkuk, Halabja, Duhok, Koya, Zakho, Ranya, Sinjar, Darbandikhan,
Chwarqurna, Zarayan, Kalar, Chamchamal).
The workshop was presented by Dr. Rozhen Kamal Mohemmed-Amin, Founder and director of
Digital Cultural Heritage Research Center, Co-Director of the Nahrein Network at Sulaimani
Polytechnic University(SPU).
*The Nahrein Network, based at the University College London (UCL), is a collaborative
international project between UCL, University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and
the University of Al-Qadisiyah. Nahrein Network was previously funded by an AHRC GCRF from
2017 to 2021. But now are continuing their mission until 2031, funded by a generous
philanthropic gift.
