An international workshop on “From the ground to the cloud: Using Oracc.org to edit the cuneiform tablets from Tell Khaiber” took place

On June 16th, 2021, the 9th international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network “Digital Cultural Heritage” Training Program under the title “From the ground to the cloud: Using Oracc.org to edit the cuneiform tablets from Tell Khaiber”” was held.

Over 120 participants from 31 different universities and government and non-government associations and organizations from a total of 9 countries (Iraq, Netherland, Algeria, UK, USA, Israel, Yemen-India-Spain) attended the workshop, and locally participants attended from (Sulaymaniyah – Erbil – Kirkuk – Halabja – Koya- and Duhok).

The two-hour-long workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Eleanor Robson, Professor of Ancient Middle Eastern History and Head of the History Department at University College London.

The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The Network is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant from the UK.
