An international workshop on “Can Creative Cities be Just as Well? The Role of Universities in Addressing Urban Inequities” took place

On April 14th, 2021, the 4th international training workshop of the joint Digital cultural heritage (DCH)-the Nahrein Network “Creative Cities” Training Program under the title “Can Creative Cities be Just as Well? The Role of Universities in Addressing Urban Inequities ” was held.

Over 200 participants from 43 different universities and government and non-government associations and organizations from a total of 9 countries (Iraq, Iran, Canada, UK, USA, Israel, Libya, Ethiopia, Sweden) attended the workshop, and locally participants attended from (Sulaymaniyah – Erbil – Kirkuk – Halabja – Koya- Baghdad – Musl – kalar- and Duhok).

The two-and-a-half-hour-long workshop was presented by Dr. Samia Rab Kirchner, Associate Professor at the Morgan State University in Maryland, US.

The Nahrein Network is a collaborative international project between University College London (UCL), University of Oxford, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, and the University of Al-Qadisiyah. The Network is supported by an AHRC Global Challenges Research Fund grant from the UK government
