Sundus Arsalan Salih, a fourth-year student in the Department of Telecommunications Engineering at the Technical College of Engineering, Sulaimani Polytechnic University, has successfully published a scientific research paper as a sole author during her undergraduate studies. The article was published in the international journal “Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing and Special Equipment,” an imprint of Emerald Publishing Limited.
Titled “Enhancing pacemaker technology: a rechargeable pacemaker design with innovative power source and battery,” the study investigates the development of a rechargeable pacemaker utilizing an innovative power source and battery system.
This achievement, particularly at such a young age during undergraduate studies, serves as a notable example of youth participation in scientific research and highlights the advancing capabilities of engineering scholarship in Kurdistan.
According to published reports, Sundus Arsalan is recognized as the youngest researcher of 2025 across Kurdistan and Iraq.
