In an effort to support university faculty members who have previously completed teaching methods courses and to familiarize them with contemporary pedagogical methodologies and modern instructional techniques, Sulaimani Polytechnic University is pleased to announce the launch of the Intensive Short Course in Pedagogy.
This initiative follows Ministerial Order No. 15620, issued on August 24, 2025, and signed by Dr. Aram Mohammed Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Pursuant to Article 23 of Directive No. 4 (2021) regarding pedagogical training in universities within the Kurdistan Region, the university has decided to conduct this intensive training program specifically for academic staff who hold permanent titles—such as Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Professor—and who have already fulfilled their initial teaching methods requirements. Participation in this course is strictly voluntary.
Course Details:
The program will span a duration of six weeks, for which 12 ECTS credits are allocated. The schedule consists of three days of instruction per week, with four hours of coursework per day. The participation fee for the course is 50,000 IQD.
Benefits and Incentives for Participants:
1. Issuance of a formal certificate of completion.
2. A Letter of Appreciation signed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
3. Exemption from the Quality Assurance requirements for one academic year.
