Sulaimani Polytechnic University Launches the First Digital Repository Platform for Master and PhD Theses in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq
As part of the ongoing efforts of the Directorate of Information Technology and Statistics to support digital transformation and enhance scientific research, Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU) has officially launched a dedicated Electronic Digital Repository platform for archiving Master and PhD theses carried out by our postgraduate students.
This platform serves as the university’s official institutional repository for preserving and disseminating postgraduate theses conducted by the university’s students. It also provides researchers and students with easy online access to postgraduate theses.
Currently, the platform includes theses from postgraduates of the following colleges:
- Technical College of Administration
- Technical College of Engineering
- Technical College of Informatics
- Technical College of Health and Medical Technology
- Halabja Technical College
At the same time, SPU has established collaboration agreements with ProQuest by Web of Science and EBSCO for publishing Master and PhD theses on their specialized databases and platforms in Kurdish, Arabic, and English languages.
It is worth mentioning that this platform is the first initiative of its kind at the level of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, developed by SPU to provide postgraduates with online access to their theses through a dedicated platform. This allows their theses to be cited and used as academic references by researchers worldwide.
This project reflects the commitment of SPU to support scientific research, increase academic impact, and strengthen the global visibility of the SPU’s research output.
