
Sulaimani Polytechnic University Participates in RISE Training Week in Rome

Sulaimani Polytechnic University actively participated in the 2nd RISE Training Week, held from 12–15 January 2026 at International University of Rome-UNINT. The event brought together representatives from universities across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to strengthen internationalisation and employability in higher education.
Throughout the four-day programme, participants engaged in intensive sessions focusing on international cooperation, student mobility, and institutional development. The opening sessions emphasized the importance of global partnerships and knowledge exchange, with contributions from academic leaders and representatives of Erasmus+ initiatives.
The training covered key topics such as International Relations Office (IRO) management, digital transformation in higher education, and innovative approaches to employability. Participants also explored practical experiences from European universities, highlighting best practices in internationalisation and career development.
A strong focus was placed on student-centred approaches, including inclusive internationalisation, fair recognition of qualifications, and enhancing language and career support services. The programme concluded with collaborative discussions on future strategies and pilot actions to strengthen institutional roadmaps.
SPU’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to enhancing global engagement, improving academic quality, and creating better opportunities for students and staff through international collaboration.
